Buffer
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and verifies sequence of operations. Seeks instruction when needed
- Selects, positions, and secures buffing wheels, sanding belts, de-burring tools as needed.
- Positions and secures work piece in holding device, machine table, vise, or fixtures.
- Leans to move controls to position tool and work piece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
- Starts machine for sanding, buffing, de-burring or bead blasting.
- Observes operation of machine and with help verifies conformance of machined work piece to specifications.
- Follows safety rules and regulations.
CNC Setup/Operator
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reviews setup sheet and specifications to determine setup procedure, machining sequence, and dimensions of finished work piece.
- Attaches fixture to machine bed and positions and secures work piece in fixture according to setup instructions.
- Assembles cutting tools in tool holders and positions tool holders in machine spindles as specified or inserts cutting tools in specified machine magazines.
- Loads program file in machine control console or enters commands to retrieve preprogrammed machine instructions from database.
- Manipulates controls and enters commands to index cutting tool to specified set point and to start machine.
- Runs prototype programs when needed to.
- Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
- Changes cutting tools and location of work piece during machining process as specified in setup instructions.
- Measures work piece for conformance to specifications.
- Adjusts machine feed and speed and changes cutters to machine parts according to specifications when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions.
Drill Press Operator
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Positions and secures work piece in holding device, machine table, or fixtures.
- Turns valve handle to direct flow of coolant or cutting oil against tool and work piece.
- Performs operation of feeding cutting tools into work piece or work piece onto machine, as applicable.
Engineering Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reviews and evaluates product request from customer, and formulates conceptual design to meet customer requirements.
- Analyzes project proposal to determine feasibility, reducibility, cost, and production time, and discusses proposal with customer representatives, engineers, and other personnel.
- Assigns project personnel to specific aspects or phases of project such as analysis, prototype, development, or design.
- Evaluates product design for conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, quality standards, and specifications.
- Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics.
- Evaluates and approves design changes and drawing releases.
- Coordinates design, production, testing, and related activities.
- Consults with project personnel and others to provide technical assistance and information.
- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.
Maintenance Helper
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Dismantles machines or equipment, replaces defective parts and motors, and adjusts feed mechanisms.
- Cleans and lubricates machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings.
- Replaces or repairs machine belts.
- Removes dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines.
- Paints machines or equipment to prevent corrosion.
- Bends and cuts conduit and wire, and drills holes in walls, floors, and ceilings for electrical connections.
- Connects wire to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replaces switches and fuses, and splices wire and insulates wire with friction tape.
- Bends, cuts, and threads pipe, cuts openings in walls, ceilings, and floors for pipes, and seals pipe joints with sealing compound.
- Cuts out and joins parts for worktables, benches, shelves, and other furnishings.
- Patches or replaces plaster or plaster board and paints walls, ceilings, and trim of building.
- Clears clogged drains and replaces plumbing fixtures.
- Operates welding machine to repair or join metal parts.
- Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
- Performs routine duties in maintaining cleanliness of building.
Mechanical Design Engineer
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Able to perform product testing and analyze failures.
- Able to determine product feasibility.
- Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts.
- Interfaces with production and sales to ensure product objectives and produce ability are achieved.
- Sketches rough layout of machining and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages, and location of features.
- Computes magnitude, direction, and point of application of tension, compression, and bending force, and develops geometric shape of parts to accommodate operating loads.
- Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of parts and subassemblies, including specifications for gear ratios, bearing loads, and direction and interaction of moving parts.
- Modifies part design to correct functional deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
- Measures machine and parts prior to the start of production to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Uses computers assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs.
- Ale to coordinate and lead meetings and design reviews.
- Able to design and detail manufacturing drawings from concept to finished products.
- Able to work with suppliers in resolving production issues or developing new products.
- Able to communicate and assist customers, engineers, and outside sales representatives on technical problems or new product development.
- Able to give presentations to internal and external customers.
Punch Press Operator
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assembles, installs, and aligns dies in press according to specifications.
- Positions work piece against fixtures or stops on machine bed or on die.
- Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.
- Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications.
- Cleans and lubricates machines.
Spot Welder
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as sequence of operations.
- Selects, positions, and secures welding tips in machine tool holder.
- Selects and positions work piece in holding device or fixtures.
- Adjusts machine controls to get proper weld strength and cosmetic finish.
- Responsible for insuring that welds meet applicable welding specifications.
- Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of welded work piece to specifications.
- Follows safety rules and regulations.
Tumbler
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Loads tumbler or vibratory equipment with parts and specified amounts of cleaning compound or abrasive materials such as stones, plastic media, and sawdust.
- Pours specified amount of liquids such as water into tumbler.
- Bolts cover and starts machine to rotate barrel and tumble parts for specified length of time.
- Tips barrel to pour contents into container or unloads barrel manually.
- Separates parts from abrasive materials or picks out parts.
- Loads, monitors, and unloads parts from open vibratory deburring machines.
